Service projects

Service projects are an important part of Scouting. Service projects:

  • meet needs within our chartered organization and our community

  • build character

  • help Scouts understand that service is integral to leadership

  • connect Scouts with our community

  • help Scouts meet requirements for rank advancement

Our troop has participated in service projects as varied as sorting food and painting at a local food pantry, landscaping for community members, and providing snacks and entertainment for campers with vision impairment at Camp Dogwood. Many of our Eagle Scouts' projects have also benefitted Camp Dogwood, where we hold our weekly meetings.

As a Scout or registered leader, you can help our troop not only by becoming involved with service projects, but also by helping us find new opportunities to help.
