About our troop
Boys Troop 823 was founded in 2018 at Camp Dogwood in Sherrills Ford. In 2019, soon after Scouts BSA opened the program to girls, we added a girls troop. In 2024, we combined in the Scouts BSA pilot program for combined troops.
Leadership Development and Fun
Scouting founder Robert Badin-Powell called Scouting "a game with a purpose." His vision was to develop young leaders through outdoor challenges, personal advancement, and fun.
